Natural Features Setback

AKA: Greenbelt Ordinance, Buffer Ordinance
One of the most effective ways to protect inland lakes, streams, and wetlands is to require minimum setbacks with the maintenance or development of an undisturbed buffer of native vegetation within a certain distance from specified natural features. A setback is intended to minimize impacts from development on the natural feature and help ensure the long-term health of the natural feature.
